7 Great Things/Places in San Antonio
It’s been a bit since the last post, but we’re back to tell you all about our top 7 things we love about San Antonio along with our favorite spots (food, shopping, coffee, and cuteness). I grew up a little north of San Antonio in the hill country where we currently live, but we venture into the city many times to hit up our favorites spots! So here’s 7 great things about San Antonio!
First thing, San Antonio is a small, big town - No matter how much San Antonio continues to blossom and grow through the years, it has a distinct small community feel and it’s very spread out. I love how we can drive into the “city” and not feel overwhelmed by a concrete jungle.
The Historic Pearl - If you’re in SA for a weekend, go to the farmer’s market here! It’s a bit crowded but only because it’s become such a place of food, good coffee, play (kid splash pad!), and luxury (Hotel Emma is over here!). This place is the culinary destination in SA! Here’s my suggested plan - Go to Cured for a tasty appetizer (charcuterie board), then walk over to the Bottling Co. for more food (dinner), finish with Lick Honest Ice Cream.
Revolucion Coffe + Juice - In my opinion, this place has the BEST LATTE (made with their homemade almond milk). It doesn’t matter what you order here - snacks, coffee, acai bowl - it’s all freaking delicious and such a treat every time.
The Shops at La Cantera - Oh how we love this laid back, outdoor shopping mall! There’s lots of shopping, restaurants, golf course, and a beautiful resort all neighboring Six Flags Fiesta Texas! Our favorite places at La Cantera: Anthropologie, Madewell, Zara, Urban Outfitters, Lululemon, and Whiskey Cake (farm to table restaurant..soooo yummy). P.s. This mall is right across the highway from another shopping area called The Rim - definitely check it out if you have time (it’s one of Dev’s favorite areas)!
King William District - This area isn’t as much of a “to do” place; it’s more of a walk around or ride bikes kind of place! BEAUTIFUL homes in this colorful part of San Antonio, plus it’s located just a bike ride away from the Riverwalk!
Southtown - Where do I even begin, this place is the newest and “improve-est”. We are right in the middle of discovering the goodies over here, but the main places you should know is The Good Kind (healthy food options! Yay!) and the Blue Star Complex. P.s. Great places for photoshoots.
Teka Molino - I think I’m going to write a blog post just all about this place and what it means to me! My Granny and Pops lived just down the street from this authentic, family-owned Mexican restaurant. Two words BEAN CUPS. Sounds questionable, but don’t question it, just order it! Needless to say, this is my favorite Mexican food in San Antonio - bold statement!
